    Executive Director

    Lisanne values the pioneering model practiced at Gould Farm that blends old fashioned, life enhancing work, with the best in clinical practices to support healing and recovery. From the Farm to Fellside, she loves being a part of this community and seeing people regain a sense of purpose and widen their circle of support for the journey. She came to Gould Farm after 20 years serving as Executive Director of an innovative anti-hunger organization serving people with mental health and addiction challenges in N.J. She received her MSW from Rutgers University and has a Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary.

    LiCSW – Clinical/Program Director Boston Area Programs

    Stef joined as Clinical/Program Director of the Boston Area Programs in 2006 and has worked supporting diverse populations healing from mental health and addiction challenges for 15+ years. She earned her BSW and MSW from the University of Vermont and serves as a Field Education Supervisor for Harvard Divinity School. Stef has been trained in facilitative leadership, holistic health and various recovery-oriented, strengths-based treatment modalities. Stef and her son value the warmth of the relationships amongst guests, families and staff in the Gould Farm/Fellside community. Stef finds joy in cultivating a welcoming, spirit-nurturing space at Fellside as a means of extending the authentic Farm community experience to Medford and providing guests a supportive launching pad into a brighter chapter of their lives.

    Clinical Director – LiCSW, LADC1

    Jane has been working in the field of mental health and addictions for over 30 years, and on the Gould Farm Clinical Team since 2004. She has been Clinical Director of the team since 2006. A graduate of Smith School for Social Work, she is licensed in social work and addictions, with additional certifications in both Trauma and Women’s Relational Theory of Mental Health. She has as an on-going passion for beneficial new therapies and work in the area of mental health care, as well as an on-going, and long-standing, passion for how people relate to issues of inclusion and the shame resulting from stigma – both for the individual and as a culture. Being part of a multifaceted team is for her both a privilege and a boon, especially the opportunities it allows to explore and introduce the exciting principles of therapies like Open Dialogue, which enhance the Gould Farm network of support around Guests. She especially values the opportunity working at Gould Farm gives her to work with Guests as they recover from whatever crisis brought them to the Farm and for the way in which the use of her skills, expertise and experience in Gould Farm’s residential setting allows her to accompany people as they grow and change in their individual recovery. She is privileged too in the way her work with both staff and Guests challenges her to personally grow and change. Jane’s own recovery journey brought her to this work, and to Gould Farm where she has happily found the freedom and an ideal setting to indulge her love of gardening and animals. She is also sustained by friendships, by her own personal networks of support and connection with the seasons and nature provided by living and working on Gould Farm.

    LiCSW – Director of Admissions

    Tamara has worked at Gould Farm for many years, first as a clinician and now as the Admissions Director. She has a BA in psychology from Hunter College and graduated with honors with her Masters in Social Work from the Hunter College School of Social Work in New York City. She also serves as an associate to takes an integrative holistic approach to helping others. Tamara enjoys working with families and guests from the first phone call through transition. She lives on the farm with her family.

    MD – Psychiatrist

    Jesse has been the consulting Psychiatrist at Gould Farm since 2003. He earned his medical degree from Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota, in 1998. He completed his Internship and Residency in Adult Psychiatry at The Cambridge Hospital, and then a four-year Fellowship in Advanced Psychiatry at The Austen Riggs Center in 2005. He has been Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 2003. He is an affiliate staff member of the Berkshire Medical Center and the Austen Riggs Center, and supervises Psychiatry Residents in long-term psychotherapy. Jesse loves how Gould Farm joins the traditional and powerful healing of community and work with new evidence based practices in medicine. He feels invigorated and rejuvenated by his day at Gould Farm each week and values the role of this community in his life.

    MD – Psychiatrist

    Psychiatrist, Dr. Lisa Y. Howard has joined the clinical team at Gould Farm. Dr. Howard will work one day a week, doing medical management for Gould Farm guests. Dr. Howard brings a wealth of schooling and work experience to the farm. She graduated from Weill Cornell Medical College, did a psychiatry residency at Cambridge Health Alliance / Harvard Medical School, and a psychotherapy fellowship at Harvard University Health Services. She was the Director of Partial Hospital Intensive Outpatient Programs at Cambridge Health Alliance, and then a staff psychiatrist at Bennington College. She currently has a private practice and works at South Western Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. Dr. Howard enjoys feeling connected to the Farm community and working as a team with other clinical staff. She appreciates Gould Farm’s unique program, especially the focus on guests’ strengths, in addition to their difficulties. She has been gratified to have the opportunity to get to know guests, and see them in different settings. Dr. Howard would like to see more places like Gould Farm develop, and for more people to have access to our treatment model. We welcome Dr. Howard and look forward to our continuing work with her.

    LiCSW – Social Worker

    Amy came to Gould Farm in 2009 after working for many years at a teaching hospital and engaged in community based mental health care in the Boston area. She was drawn to the healing model of meaningful work and the importance of community. She enjoys meeting with guests by the pond or walking together and sharing the beauty of Gould Farm. She loves seeing the moments of grace, healing and growth that happen here. Amy received her Masters of Social Work (MSW) from the Smith College School for Social Work in 1998.

    LiCSW – Social Worker

    Nancy got her start working in the field of Mental Health when she began as a Case Manager in the Gould Farm Boston Area Program in 1998. After several years working in our transition programs, she went to Smith College and received her MSW before joining the Farm’s Clinical Team. Nancy enjoys working as part of a team to support the integrated treatment of individual’s with mental health difficulties. Her personal family history with mental illness inspires her work with Guests and their families. Nancy lives with her husband Eric, also on staff at Gould Farm, and their three children.

    LMSW – Social Worker

    Rebecca has been working in the field of mental health for more than 8 years. She worked for many years at an accredited clubhouse in New York City. She is excited to be part of the community at Gould Farm and loves its natural beauty and emphasis on meaningful, collaborative work. She is passionate about mental health recovery, and is dedicated to helping individuals with mental health challenges to heal, grow, work toward their life goals, and overcome obstacles, including stigma. She incorporates a social-justice lens into her work, emphasizing the empowerment of oppressed groups, including women, minorities, immigrants, and members of the LGBTQ community. Rebecca graduated from Hunter College School of Social Work in New York City in 2016 with a Master’s in Social Work Degree.

    LCSW – Social Worker

    Brett has held a number of different roles at the farm. After completing a Masters in theological studies, he arrived at the farm as a residential volunteer and subsequently spent time on the kitchen and garden teams before beginning five years in the nursing office. A love for Gould Farm, its important mission, and the incredible people who seem to find themselves here led him to pursue an MSW at Boston College and shift roles again. Now as a clinician, he is immensely grateful to continue to live, work, and learn in this unique community. He can often be found opining about good food, running on our many trails, or enjoying a pile of books.

    Work Program Director

    Steve is a native of Michigan who has worked at Gould Farm for the past 25 years. Having lived, worked and studied in numerous settings in the U.S., Central Africa and Europe he brings a wide variety of experience to his role as Work Program Coordinator. He juggles many tasks and wears many hats at Gould Farm. it’s boiling sap or sharing a reading at morning meeting, he loves working with, and helping to coordinate, the diversity of a purposeful and vibrant community. His formal education includes undergraduate studies in French and secondary education as well as graduate studies in community and resource development.

    Development Director

    Melanie joined Gould Farm in early 2017 having previously served as a senior development executive or capital campaign consultant for over 35-years. She recalls when she visited the Farm for a job interview. “I walked onto the campus and within 5-minutes said to myself, ‘I can’t think of an organization that deserves $2+ million in philanthropic funding for a community center more than the Gould Farm community. Let’s get to work!” Melanie became the coordinator of the Farm’s first capital campaign, the $2.6 million Harvesting Hope Capital Campaign for the Red Barn Community Center (Now the Price Community Center.). The campaign successfully finished June 30, 2019 having reached $2.8 million, all the funds required to build the new center.

    Now as the Farm’s Development Director, Melanie oversees the Farm’s annual Community Fund, and the Farm’s new major gifts initiatives for capital building projects and establishing its first endowment. She enjoys every aspect of her role in meeting and inspiring the Farm’s many friends about the ways they can show their appreciation for Gould Farm.

    Melanie is a graduate of Colgate University. In 2016, she earned her Masters of Arts at Skidmore College studying organizational culture and the role of philanthropy. She was on Skidmore College’s adjunct faculty teaching Philanthropy and the Arts before coming to the Farm. She served on Colgate’s Planned Giving Committee, and the Board of Directors of Women in Development/NY and the Columbia Land Conservancy until turning her energy to serving Gould Farm in any way her circumstances allow.

    Melanie and her husband, Howard reside just over the Massachusetts/NY border in Columbia County.

  • Dana Buxton

    Transition Counselor

    Dana joined the Clinical Team in 2019 as the Transition Counselor. With over 15 years in the field, she has her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Stanford University and her master’s degree in Psychology, with a focus in Ecopsychology, from Antioch University Seattle. She has previous experience living and working in therapeutic communities, writing her graduate thesis on the use of horticultural therapy on therapeutic farms. She enjoys her role helping guests formulate next steps in their recovery journey as they transition off the farm.

    Human Resources Director

    Michael came to Gould Farm in December of 2011 as the Director of Human Resources. Prior to joining the staff at Gould Farm, he served as Director, Human Resources at Boyd Technologies, a manufacturing/clean room facility in Lee, MA. Michael appreciates the welcoming, peaceful and safe atmosphere provided to staff and guests alike at Gould Farm. He is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). He lives with his wife Cathy and their son.

    Development Associate

    Liz Halla-Mattingly joined the development team at Gould Farm in 2019. She has an MSW with a focus in Administration from the University of Connecticut and has worked in the nonprofit sector for over ten years. She loves sharing the wonderful work and healing that is happening at Gould Farm with supporters and hearing stories from people who have a personal connection to the Farm. She loves living in community with her family and enjoys hiking the Farm’s trails with her dog.

  • Amy Robandt

    LCSW Social Worker

    Amy first came to Gould Farm as a volunteer in 2004, serving as a work leader on the Roadside and Farm work program teams and providing residential support in the guest houses. Her experience of the transformative work at Gould Farm led her to pursue a social work degree, and she graduated from SUNY Albany with her Masters in Social Work (MSW) in 2014. For more than 10 years, Amy has worked to support families and their loved ones in a number of roles in Berkshire County. She has provided case management, individual therapy, advocacy, and assistance navigating complex service systems. Amy is familiar with a variety of services, organizations and opportunities in the Berkshires, and plans to use those connections to assist guests as they look to transition to greater independence in the area. Amy believes strongly in people's capacity for change, and in all of her professional roles has worked to empower people as they take steps towards their identified goals.
